Lot Essay

The firm of Warners of Baintree Limited was founded in 1870 by Benjamin Warner in conjunction with Messrs. Sillett and Ramm. The firm had a policy of building up a design archive and purchased several pattern books, textile designs and woven documents. The collection was sold at Christie's on 10 July 1972; the above lot and the following two were included in the sale.
