A mid-Victorian oak and brass mounted pedestal sideboard in the manner of Charles Bevan or Bruce Talbert with dot inlay and carved dog-tooth decoration, the shelved super structure with crocket finials and pair of doors with elaborate brass hinges above three drawers, each pedestal with panelled door, one enclosing drawer with cellarette interior, one enclosing shelves, flanked by column upright with scroll capitals on plinth base - 84in. (213.5cm.) wide, 23in. (58.5cm.) deep, 82in. (208cm.) high.
Several features of this sideboard point to the documented work of Bevan and Talbert as executed for firms such as Gillows of Lancaster and Marsh and Jones of Leeds, notably the use of chevron inlay, dog tooth mouldings, short columns, ebony dot inlay and crocket finials.
