A pair of Unkoku School six-leaf screens painted in sumi and slight colour on a gold sprinkled ground, one depicting a pagoda and thatched houses in a mountainous landscape, the other with figures crossing a bridge towards a cluster of boats moored beside a lake, retreats to the side surrounded by pine trees in a mountainous landscape -- each leaf 67in.x 25in., the former signed Sesshu yondai Unkoku hokkyo Toeki hitsu, the latter Unkoku hokkyo Toeki hitsu, with a gourd shaped seal Unkoku and a square seal Toeki, 18th Century.
