MARGARET MITCHEL
A January 15, 1937 letter from the author to an aspiring actress. The letter, on Ms. Mitchell's personal stationery, thanks a Miss Farha for her interest in the forthcoming film Gone With The Wind.
"... appreciate your desire to play the part of Scarlett. I only wish it were possible for me to be of some assistance to you in this matter. However, there is nothing I can do as I have no connection whatsoever with the film production of my novel. I am not going to Hollywood or adapting the book to screen or writing additional dialogue. The casting of a picture is never in the hands of the author..." Signed in black ink, Margaret Mitchell; together with the original stamped mailing envelope.
