A shingunto with oil-quenched steel blade, with foliate gilt-metal fittings and pseudo-shagreen composition hilt, the leather scabbard with foliate kurikata, attached silk cord -- the blade 26.in.long, the blade signed Kaneko and dated Jushichinen Kugatsu Kichijitsu (an auspicious day in September 1942).
