An 18th Century silver pair case hour striking verge watch, the movement with rose diamond end stone and engraved barrel signed Jn. Ellicott, London, number 2408, the dust cover with repeat signature, the hammer stricking on a bell housed within the pierced case, with strike silent lever, the case pierced and engraved with scrollwork, a mask and a vignette of a village scene around the bow and hinge, the white enamel dial, chipped, with Roman hour and Arabic minute numerals, the outer case also pierced and embossed with scrolls and shells, both cases with London hallmark for 1743.
