A Continental gilt tapering lidded tankard on a spreading circular foot, with a scroll handle and domed hinged cover with lion rampant and shield finial and cast beaded scroll thumb-piece, the body and cover decorated with fruit and scrolling foliage on textured grounds, the shield of the finial engraved with a date 1645 with initials beneath, probably 18th/19th century - 6¾in., 14.25oz.
