The eldest son Tom, and Edith the daughter, who became a nun. These two who became Roman Catholics, did not agree very well with the others. Mary Ashton was sister of Benjamin Ashton and Mrs. Burckhardt. They were first cousins of my grandmother Jane Ashton, wife of John Leech of Gorse Hall .... "
