Four embossed and pierced paperlace valentine cards, two cameo embossed, all stamp marked Kershaw & Son, two with hand-coloured centres, one with a gauze centre applied with silvered details, one with a manuscript inscription 'Fairest and Dearest/This letter brings to you inveloped [sic] in its folds a/smile as bright as the hope of possessing/you must give to mortal a sigh warm/from the heart that beats for you ever/A kiss fond as ever impressed/upon the eyelids which curtain/the light of his soul Return the/smile, accept the sigh and keep/the kiss until you can return/it safely to the lips of you own/Valentine'; and another possibly by Kershaw, L. 7 x 4in., c. 1840-60.
