An embossed, cameo embossed and pierced paperlace valentine card in four layers, heightened with gilded details, the first layer opening upwards, the centre-piece in satin depicting two gilt doves with their nest, the next layer opening downwards, with oval hand-coloured floral centre with manuscript verse in gold, the following centre in the form of two cameo embossed doors with oval satin centres containing two gilt vases with hand-coloured red roses, opening to reveal a silvered embossed medallion with the words 'The One of all the World I love Best', lifting to reveal a mirror in a silvered framed on a satin background, mounted, 10 x 8in., c. 1850.
