Five cameo embossed and pierced paperlace valentines stamp marked Wood, with hand-coloured, chromolithographed and gilded details, one cameo embossed card depicts the Garden of Eden with Peacocks and Butterflies, a lady sits within an alcove beneath a tree with her dog staring into the distance at a church, all with printed verses including 'Some say by all means marry young/And some say marry late/The first says do not tarry long/The other bids us wait/To prove which notion is the best/Let you and me agree/I will put the matter to the test/If you should marry me', S. 3½ x 2¼in., L. 6 x 4in., c. 1855-75.
