A cameo embossed and pierced paperlace valentine card, attributed to Esther Howland, depicting a church in a forest, the hand-coloured centre-piece of two windows opening to reveal a newly wed couple, the applied printed verse below reads 'E'en time will never/from my heart/Thy much loved/image blot/Tho every other/dream depart/thou will not be/forgot', 6 x 4in., c. 1850-80; together with two other cards.
