A hand-coloured lithographed valentine card by T.H. Burke, with an embossed pierced paperlace border, the floral centre surrounded by a verse 'Sweet Maid! whose memory never shall depart/Where deep it lies engraven on my heart/Whose voice, whose look, whose air/First in my breast enkindled sacred fire/Of wealth & fame, consuming all desire/Must I, for thee despair?...', lifting to reveal a young boy flanked by two flaming hearts surrounded by a garland of flowers and the words 'Grant that Hymen soon may bind/For me the charms, in you I find', 10 x 8in., c. 1840.
