HUMOROUS LITHOGRAPHED VALENTINES
A set of four hand-coloured lithographed valentine cards with embossed borders and comic verses, one reads 'Oh, Lady fair, naught can compare with thy Bonnet and Muff so fine/With thy Crinoline wide, thy legs so spare, you do indeed cut a shine/But do not expect that men are such fools, as not to see through your trick/They know much better, and are not to be caught unless their heads are thick', 7¼ x 4¼in., c. 1870's.
