An embossed and pierced paperlace valentine card, the centre embossed and hand-coloured with The Prince of Wales feathers, the applied caption below titled as above, opening to reveal a chromolithograph of the Prince and Princess of Wales and the words 'Not more dear to England's shore/Can be our future Queen/Than the fond one whom I adore/To me has ever been', 7 x 4½in., c. 1863; together with a cameo embossed and pierced paperlace card by Dobbs Kidd & Co., with a hand-coloured lithographed centre entitled 'In hope to catch the darling bird'.
