A George III three-piece moulded oval tea service with a matching oval teapot stand, the teapot with rising curved spout, ebonised wood scroll handle and domed hinged cover with reeded oval finial, one side with presentation inscription from " The Royal Aberdeen Volunteers to The Revd. Dr. I. Shirress their worthy Chaplain" within a bright-cut and engine-turned foliate, floral and drapery cartouche, an initial beneath, the other side engraved with a monogram with contemporary date within a conforming cartouche, the other pieces all engraved with conforming inscriptions, the teapot stand on curved bracket feet and with a moulded rim, Samuel Hennell, London 1801 - some of the pieces with erased maker's marks - height of teapot 6¾in., 34.25oz. gross.
