French Grand Prix, Pau, 1930. Birkin narrowly misses Charavel's crashed Bugatti.

Charavel (who raced under the pseudonym 'Sabipa') rolled his Bugatti, Birkin arrived on the scene, was unable to stop, and just avoided the Bugatti driver who was lying in the road, blood was found on the Bentley's tyres after the race, but Charavel was not seriously injured.
