A finely engineered 1½ inch scale model of an Allchin single cylinder, two speed, four shaft, general purpose traction engine 'Royal Chester' , built by T.R. Little -- 16 5/8 x 25¾in (42.2 x 65.5cm). With braised copper boiler with blued steel barrel clading and fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, injector, water lift, clack and blow down valves and with fitting for compressed air operation. Engine details include blued steel clad cylinder 1 inch bore by 1½ inch stroke, trunk type crosshead guide, ratchet operated lubricator, foot plate controlled drain cocks, bolted wedged big end, Stephensons link reverse, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, counterbalanced crankshaft, two road speeds and spoked fly wheel. Chassis details include spoked, straked wheels with brass hubcaps, worm and roller chain steering, spud pan, sprung front axle, footplate controlled damper, cable drum, cable and fair leads, and brake to third shaft, water lift and pipe, wooden footboard with tool box under, chequer-plate steps, firing irons and other details.
