A George I green lacquer musical longcase clock, the case on later skirted foot with raised chinoiserie decoration to the arched door and hood with detached brass capped columns supporting the arch set with pierced wood sound frets, the dial signed John Cannon, Cirencester, on the brass chapter ring, the matted centre with decorated calendar aperture, pierced steel hands, (later minute hand), foliate urn spandrels, subsiduary tidal dial in arch with penny moonphase, four tune selection slide by chapter II, the five ringed pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell, conjoined musical movement playing on eight bells via sixteen hammers with trip repeat cord -- 7ft. 7in. (232cm) high.
