An 18th century oak longcase clock, the hood with detached column uprights below a swan neck pediment with later foliate carving, surmounted by a gilt brass urn shaped finial, the arched brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed Peter Onions, the matted and foliate engraved centre with seconds ring and date aperture, ring turned winding holes, within cherub mask spandrels, silvered sun boss to the arch, the door to the arch later carved with seed pods, on a plain plinth and swept apron bracket foot -- 86½in. (219.7cm) high.
