A Regency style six-piece tapering circular tea service on fluted rising circular bases and with applied gadroon, shell and foliate everted rims, comprising: a tea kettle with polished wood handle and fluted finial, on a stand with burner - 12½in., a teapot, and a hot water jug with elaborate polished wood scroll handles and fluted finials, and a milk jug, sugar basin and waste bowl, the handles incorporating serpent motifs, with a matching shaped oval two-handled tray on foliate bracket feet, the ground engraved with an armorial, crest and motto and with presentation inscription to Mrs E.J. Pankhurst, Mayoress of the County Borough of Brighton during the Mayoralty of Alderman E.J. Pankhurst 1921-1923, James Dixon & Son, Sheffield various dates - length of tray 31in. overall, 321oz. gross.
