A rare mid 19th century Japanned metal wine decanting cradle, with central turned wood carrying handle and adjustable tilting handle, with screw locking device, the bottle tray with part of an attached tablet, indistinctly marked Ellis Patent no 94 Elutriator.

The above cradle is similar in principles to an improved apparatus patented by Josesph Ellis, of Brighton, no 1686 1857.
