Lady Margaret Livingston, eldest legitimate daughter of Alexander, 2nd Earl of Linlithgow, married first Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock. After 8 June 1666, she married Sir George Stirling of Keir (died 1667) as his 4th wife. His deceased 3rd wife had been Anna, 2nd daughter of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock. Sir George's heir was his cousin, Sir Archibald Stirling of Garden, Lord Garden of the Court of Session, who died in April, 1668, having seen his son, John, become Margaret's 3rd husband in February of that year. She died on 2 November 1674.
