Lot Essay

The first Gramophone Company cabinet to adapt the classic Victrola design, with its Louis XV-style front angles and ogee-moulded lid, this and the similar walnut Model XIV were made only for a season or two with the square unlouvred horn. The cabinet design set the standard for the industry for the next fifteen years.
