A pair of silver-mounted double-barrel flintlock pistols with signed twist barrels (possibly shortened) each with silver fore-sight, engraved tangs, signed flat bevelled locks each with semi-rainproof pan and roller (one cock detached, the other incomplete), figured walnut half-stocks, flat-sided chequered walnut butt, engraved silver mounts including trigger-guards with pineapple finial, escutcheons engraved with the crest and motto of Stirling and butt-caps, and original horn-tipped ramrod (the other missing, some surface rust overall), by Ketland & Co., Birmingham, silver hallmarks for 1793, maker's mark of Charles Freeth, 13½in.
