A large pair of Shibayama-style tusk vases with foliate silver filigree rims and foliate silver mounts on shaped wood stands, inlaid in mother-of-pearl, stained ivory, horn, coral, turquoise and wood with a parrot on a swing and a hanging basket full of peony, daisy and other flowers suspended from tasselled swags, above furniture, vases, brushpots and a fan, the reverses with a kingfisher perched on a fence post before a clump of lotus leaves and pods issuing from behind a mound, the other with a fence post, reeds, grasses and further flowers (minor pieces of inlay missing, age cracks) -- 16¾in.high, signed Masayuki on mother-of-pearl tablets.
