An extremely fine and very detailed exhibition standard 3/16in:1ft scale metal display model of the 'V' Class destroyer H.M.S. 'Vega' pennent No. L41 built by Norman Peters -- 17 x 58½in (43.2 x 148.5cm)
With mast, radio aerials and signal halyards, navigation lights, ladder and deck details including anchors with 'D' chains, capstan, cleates, bollards, deck rails, companionways, lockers, main, secondary and anti-aircraft armament, ventilators, open bridge with binnacles, speaking tubes, windscreen, search lights, RDF aerials, stove pipe, stayed funnel, carley floats, searchlight tower, depth charges in stern racks, and 'K' guns, planked and framed gig with bottom boards, thwarts and oars and pinnace with spray hoods and thwarts, both in davits, and much other fine detailing. The finely planked hull has twin shafts with 'A' brackets and three blade propellors, rudder and bilge keels and is finished in grey and black with brown and grey decks. Mounted in two cradles on mahogany display base. Plate glass cover. Ship's crest and literature.
