'Reginald Hanson', the semi circular glazed case with label inscribed Screw Steamer by John Young Short, M.I.N.A., of Short Brothers Ship Builders, Sunderland with label for the Worshipful Company of Shipwrights Competitive Exhibition 1877. Measurements overall - 16½ x 64½ins (41.3 x 163.8cms)
With deck details including anchor and davit, bilge pump, winch, deck-rails, companionways, hatches, deck-winches, wheelhouse with wing bridge over, ventilator, engine-room lights and aft ship's wheel and two lifeboats in davits and chocks with bottom boards and thwarts and other details. Finished in gilt to the waterline, black, white varnish and green. Mounted on blue velvet in glazed mahogany case for wall hanging.
