An early 19th Century French prisoner of war bone and horn model of a 100-gun ship of the line -- 10 x 12in (25.5 x 30.5cm)
With masts, spars, standing and running rigging and deck details including carved warrior figurehead, catheads and anchors, capstan, ballustrading, belaying rails, companionways, bell canopy, deck house and ship's boat with thwarts in stern davits. The planked and pinned hull has horn strakes, carved stern gallery and quarter windows. Mounted on a parquetry base on four carved bone feet, (some restoration, some old damages).
