The first covering the years 1812-1815 includes portraits of named ships: Pompee; Impregnable; Grasshopper; Clorinde; and Rivoli. Various named views range from Mauritius, Elba, and Naples, to Portsmouth and Cowes; pencil and grey wash;

The second contains some more complete sketches in watercolour and grey wash, a few inscribed and anotated: Gravesend, Flushing and Tilbury;
