A Persian shamshir with curved single edged blade, finely watered with the 'Prophets Ladder Design', a later gold damascened on one side at the forte with a vase containing calligraphy, possibly refering to its manufacture in Isfahan, iron quillons and pommel-cap engraved and gold damascened with foliage (rubbed) and ivory grips (cracked) -- 39in. long, 18th/19th century
