A Qajar polychrome lacquer papier-mache qalamdan with rounded ends and sliding tray, the top and sides painted and gilt with large cartouches depciting young ladies before buildings and trees, the further medallions with hunting scenes in rocky landscapes (restored and lacquered over) -- 9in. long, probably in the style of Najaf Ali.
