A group of mainly Romano-British bronze items including a large crossbow fibula, with three heavy knob terminals and ribbed decoration at the foot, pin missing -- 2 7/8in. (7.2cm.) long, 4th Century A.D., another with flaring 'trumpet' head and central sphere, pin intact -- 1 7/8in. (4.8cm.) long, 1st-2nd Century A.D., another fibula with circular base plate of coiled bronze and central boss with incised foliate designs, pin missing -- 1 3/8in. (3.5cm.) diam., 2nd-3rd Century A.D., and an openwork dragonesque fibula of serpentine form -- 1¾in. (4.5cm.) long, circa 2nd Century A.D., a Romano-British bronze appliqué in the form of the head of a maenad, her hair swept back off her face under a flower and foliate garland -- 1½in. (3.8cm.) high; and a knife handle in the form of the upper part of a recumbent panther, drinking from a bowl held between it's forepaws, emerging from stylized foliage --2 5/8in.
