A Chinese gilt bronze altar-set comprising a two-handled tripod censer and domed cover with Buddhistic lion and ball finial decorated with flanges interspersed with shaped cartouches of flowering branches -- 8in. high; a pair of ewers and domed covers with similar finials and ruyi sceptre handles on pierced leafy feet, similarly decorated -- 10in. high; a pair of jues similarly decorated -- 4in. high; a flattened hexagonal vase on leaf feet containing three hair pins -- the vase 4¾in. high; and a small cup with scrolling handles similarly decorated -- 2¾in. wide.
