A well engineered and detailed 1in:1ft scale model of a Robey 90h.p. cross compound horizontal mill engine of circa 1930, built by A.Walshaw -- 7½ x 14in (19 x 35.5cm)
Complete with blued steel-lagged cylinders, (some slight rusting) 1 1/8in and 1 5/8in bore x 1¾in stroke, Meyer hand adjusted variable cut-off valve gear, drain cocks and fine pipework, main stop valve, belt driven pickering type governor, blued steel-lagged transfer pipe with pressure gauge and displacement lubricator, Wakefield lubricator and pipework, trunk type crosshead guides, shaped connecting rods with gibbed and cottered big ends with split bearings and oil pots, counterbalanced crankshaft with banjo lubrication to big end bearings, oil pots and drip glasses, eccentric driven feed pump with stuffing box, clack valves and spoked flywheel. Finished in maroon and polished brightwork and mounted on black and white tiled plinth with flywheel pit handrail. Mahogany base.
