An early 18th Century fruitwood nocturnal, unsigned, the main obverse plate stamped with calendar scales and hour scale divided 1-12(x2), the inner plate with secondary hour scale divded 1-12(x2)and further divided 1-29, with two pointers stamped G B and L B, the index arm engraved with lines (damaged),the handle shaped with heart decoration and stamped FOR BOTH BEARS, the reverse with decorated compass rose and engraved with scales - 4½in.(11.5cm)diam.
