A late 18th Century lacquered brass universal equinoctial dial, signed Dollond London, with folding spring loaded gnomon, the hour ring divided IIII-XII-VIII, the latitude arc engraved 0°-60°, the inset silvered dial with bubble and cross bubble, with engraved compass rose, divided quadrantly, with blued needle and cap, engraved on the underside with latitudes for ten European cities, on three levelling screws, in fitted and shaped velvet lined fishskin case - 6in.wide
