A Continental 19th century novelty cast gilt taperstick modelled as the naked figure of the devil seated on a flame-chased irregularly-shaped base on three grotesque winged beast feet, the front cast with a monster with gaping mouth, the figure moulded with his elbow on his knee, his two hands supporting the candle, his face turned towards his flame, his tail forming the loop handle, apparently unmarked - 3¾in.
