John Taylor of Colchester born 1775 died 1845 is recorded as carpenter, cabinet maker and undertaker aswell as appraiser and auctioneer. A Gothic rosewood glazed bookcase is recorded with what seems to be the same trade label. See Dictionary of English Furniture Makers, Bard and Gilbert, 1986, p. 877
