THE FOLLOWING LOTS FORM THE ESTATE OF THE LATE JACK AND MARGARET BOYCE Jack and Margaret Boyce began collecting Newhall in Lancashire in 1957 when they purchased a silver-shape teapot from a neighbour. Already collectors, primarily of visiting card cases, they soon found themselves unable to resist similar tea and coffee pots on their travels throughout the country. The relatively small amount known at the time about Newhall and related factories was a spur to their activities, and friendships with other interested collectors served to expand a shared pool of knowledge. Jack Boyce retired as Chief Education Officer fo Lancashire in 1973, but he and Margaret continued to work for the Harris Museum in Preston on a voluntary basis. Margaret Boyce died in 1990 and Jack Boyce in 1992.
