Lot Essay

This doll's house was modelled on Sherborne House, Newlands, Sherborne, Dorset, built for Henry Seymour Portman Esq., and designed by an architect named Bastard of Sherborne. In 1720 it was left to Francis Seymour, brother of the Duke of Somerset.
