A figure variously known as Eloquence, Demosthenes and St. Paul Preaching to the Athenians after the original model by Enoch Wood modelled as a standing Classically draped man, one hand extended, his robes held about him, a plinth at his side relief-moulded with the God Mercury amongst clouds, an open scroll lying on the plinth, enriched in colours, on a rectangular marbleised base (one finger lacking, minor chips and firing cracks), circa 1800 -- 18in. high
