An early Victorian brass-bound mahogany military chest, with rectangular top above two short frieze drawers one with hinged fall enclosing slides, probably originally fitted as secretaire drawer, with three further drawers below on flattened bun feet, the front with brass plaque stamped Gilham, Manufacturer, Canterbury -- 46in. (117cm.) wide, 20½in. (52cm.) deep, 46in. (117cm.) high.
