Sarah (1745-1826), fifth daughter of Charles, 2nd Duke of Richmond and Lennox, having twice refused marriage to King George III, married firstly, in 1762, Sir Thomas Charles Bunbury, 6th Bt. (marriage dissolved by Act of Parliament, 1776); and secondly, in 27 August 1781, Hon. George Napier (see following lot).

Sarah was described by her brother-in-law, Henry Fox "as having the finest complexion and most beautiful hair and the prettiest person ever seen, with a sprightly air, and remarkably fine teeth, a pretty mouth and an excess of bloom in the cheeks, but her great beauty was a peculiarity of countenance that made her at the same time different from and prettier than any girl I have ever seen".
