A SET OF FOUR ITALIAN CREAM-PAINTED AND PARCEL-GILT WALNUT ARMCHAIRS
Second half 18th Century, possibly Marche
Each with moulded foliate carved frame, with a cartouche-shaped removable padded back, the toprail and seatrail decorated with scrolling rockwork and flowers, the slightly out-curved arms on foliate supports, above a shaped drop-in seat covered in white and green floral brocade, above a shaped apron centred by foliate rockwork rosette, on cabriole legs headed by acanthus-clasps and terminating in scroll feet, two chairs with repairs to the back (4)
