Overall cross- banded with ebony and fruitwood lines and pen-work engraved foliate borders, the canted rectangular top above a dentilled frieze and a long drawer with simulated panelling, above a fall-front inset with a cut corner panel with foliate angles with a Chinese laquer panel with a landscape, enclosing a fitted interior with three open compartments and four drawers above a green gilt-tooled leather-lined writing surface, above two conformingly panelled doors inset with black and gilt japanned panels with landscapes, enclosing one shelf, on square tapering legs with brass bell-shaped feet
