The moulded serpentine top above a curved frieze with two short panelled drawers, the shaped apron decorated with C-scrolls, the sides carved with floral foliage and rockwork, on angular cabriole legs and scrolling feet, the handles later

Lot Essay

This table relates closely to a pair of Portuguese rosewood pier tables made in the third quarter of the 18th Century, illustrated in M.J. Espirito Santo Bustorff Silva and M.N. Teague, Ricardo do Espirito Santo Silva Foundation, Lisbon 1995, p. 76.
