Woven in wools and silks, depicting Rest During the Hunt with two hunters and their dogs resting in a wooden landscape with buildings to the right background, the floral border with rockwork corner clasps, within a later green outer slip

This panel depicts the right-hand segment of the Halte de Chasse illustrated in J. Boccara, Ames de Laine et de Soie, Saint- Rémy-en-l'Eau, 1988, p. 196. Boccara attributes the design to Francesco Giuseppe Casanova (d. 1802) who trained under Guardi in Venice before joining the Académie Royale de Paris. Similar tapestries are also illustrated in D. and P. Chevalier and P.-F. Bertrand, Les Tapisseries d'Aubusson et de Felletin, Lausanne, 1988, p. 146. These authors on the other hand compare the subjects to the work of Jaques-Nicolas Juillard (d. 1790). Although he is recorded to have designed thirteen series for Aubusson under his contract as peintre des manufactures d'Aubusson et de Felletin, none of his work has yet categorically been identified
