Unsigned, Edo Period (Late 18th/Early 19th Century)
Katabori, stained ivory; a netsuke in the form of a double gourd with simple stained and incised decoration of a seated Chinese figure (probably Hotei), rocks, peonies and other plants, the himotoshi formed by a silvered metal ring around the waist of the gourd, stopper replaced
