GOLDSCHMIDT, E. Ph. Five scrapbooks of Gothic and Renaissance bookbindings (2), Baroque bookbindings (1), illuminated manuscripts (1), woodcuts and types (1). [Vienna and London: ca. 1914 - ca. 1937].
5 volumes, large 4°. Mounted photographs, rubbings, clippings from catalogues, letters, facsimiles, prospectuses, and two fragments from an incunable. (Some loose.) Autograph captions and notes (a few typed). Blue buckram (rubbed, two spines defective).

Goldschmidt was an inveterate note-taker and these scrapbooks, too, confirm his industry and patience in building up files for his binding and manuscript studies. The inserted correspondence includes autograph and typed letters from Prosper Verheyden, G. D. Hobson, Ernst Kyriss, J. B. Oldham, Hermann Herbst and other bookbinding historians. (5)
